As more and more people are getting vaccinated and public places are reopening, we are looking forward to the upcoming summer season! With the summer on the horizon, Salesforce is soon launching its Summer ‘21 release. We would like to give you an early insight. I highlight 5 features that significantly improve the user experience and adoption.

1. Flow? Flows!

Yes, the same title to start with as my last blog. The main reason? Automation is no longer a subtopic in Salesforce releases. Salesforce want to consolidate all automation functionalities into the Flow workspace. For the flow addicts, I sum up some of the most important new features:

  • Debug Record Triggered Flows
  • Add Fields from objects directly to your flow
  • Multi Column Screen Flows is General Available
  • Find all the flows that failed in one place

More flow updates and details: See the release notes.

2. Opportunity Pipeline inspection

Want to have a better insight into your pipeline? With pipeline inspection you have a better view of your pending deals thanks to real time information and the global overview. Sales managers can use this information to coach their sales reps on closing more deals

See the release notes.

3. Salesforce's walkthroughs for free! (almost)

Until now, you could use the Salesforce walkthrough in-app guidance feature as a trial for 30 days. With the Summer ‘21 release Salesforce changes their policy: you can now activate 3 free walkthroughs to help your users find their way in your Salesforce org. New to the walkthroughs? Check out this video to find out more!

4. New System Font

To boost reading experience Salesforce changed the general used font of the platform from Salesforce Sans to your systems default font.

5. Edit inline in reports (Beta)

I saved the best for the last… with this release, Salesforce will start rolling out the functionality to edit inline in reports. This is a long awaited feature! Imagine the time you and your users will save. No more need to open every single record individually. How cool is that?!

(This feature is in beta and will not yet be general available with the Summer '21 release)
